Business Development Manager Hybrid (UK travel) | Essex Permanent, Full-Time £50,000 – £60,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance The Opportunity We’re looking for a hungry, consultative Business Development Manager / Sales Manager to take full ownership of new business within a fast-growing, technology-led facilities management environment. This is not a transactional sales role — you’ll be building long-term partnerships, engaging senior stakeholders, and designing tailored FM solutions for multi-site clients. You’ll: Own the full 360° sales cycle Build your own pipeline from scratch Work collaboratively with senior leadership and operations teams Play a key role in defining growth strategy Key Responsibilities Sales & New Business • Generate new opportunities through outreach, networking, referrals and events, • Own the full sales process from prospecting through to close, • Build strong relationships with senior decision-makers (FDs, COOs, Property Directors) Consultative Selling • Understand client challenges and design bespoke FM solutions, • Deliver high-quality proposals, presentations and client demos, • Position the business as a trusted advisor Pipeline & Performance • Build, manage, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, • Ensure accurate CRM tracking and forecasting, • Report regularly on pipeline activity and performance Commercial & Tender Management • Lead RFPs, tenders and bid submissions end to end, • Collaborate with operational teams on service design, • Negotiate contracts with a focus on long-term value and margin What We’re Looking For Essential • 5+ years’ B2B sales experience (FM, building services, or commercial real estate), • Proven track record of winning multi-site FM contracts, • Strong commercial acumen (pricing, margin management, negotiation), • Confident working with senior stakeholders, • Self-starter with the ability to build pipeline independently, • Experience managing tenders and structured bid processes, • Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel Desirable • Experience selling FM technology or service platforms, • Existing network within hospitality, retail, or workplace sectors, • Experience mentoring or supporting junior sales professionals What’s on Offer • Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience), • Performance-based bonus aligned to new business wins, • Car allowance, • 21 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service), • Full tech package (laptop, phone, CRM systems), • Clear progression pathway into senior sales leadership Apply Now To apply, please submit your CV along with a short cover note
