Tuesday to Saturday days 40 hours a week (flexible hours) I am currently working with a well-established food manufacturing business. You’ll be based on their production facility, where they manufacture high-volume, high-quality products supplied to major retail and global customers. They are seeking a Multiskilled Engineer to join their Engineering team, covering a Tuesday - Saturday shift pattern (days only, flexible hours) Role Overview This is a hands-on role providing reactive and preventative electrical and mechanical maintenance support to production, ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting efficient manufacturing operations. You will work across a wide range of manufacturing equipment, contributing directly to plant performance, safety, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities • Maintain plant and machinery to meet production requirements, • Respond quickly and efficiently to machinery breakdowns, • Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs, • Deliver a robust preventative maintenance programme to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability, • Carry out machinery installations and modifications when required, • Work closely with production teams to support machine changeovers and settings, • Ensure all planned and preventative maintenance documentation is accurate and up to date, • Maintain engineering standards in line with company policies, • Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, COSHH, and relevant legislation, • Manage spares and stock control, including critical spares listings, • Participate in shift handovers and maintain audit-ready standards at all times, • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement Requirements • Qualified electrically, • Strong fault-finding and repair skills across electrical and mechanical systems, • Experience maintaining production and packaging machinery, • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload effectively, • Full UK driving licence, • Previous experience within Manufacturing or FMCG, • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor, and automated systems, • CMMS experience (FIXX Maintenance System or similar)
