Leicester Arts Centre Ltd (t/a Phoenix) is seeking a Commercial Development Manager to lead our commercial business activities, identifying growth opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth. This will be a part time role at 30hrs per week. About Phoenix A registered charity for over 35 years, Phoenix is Leicesters independent cinema and art centre and is the citys home for film, moving image, and digital storytelling. Our Café Bar is a vibrant hub for people who live and work in city, as well as our cinema and arts audiences, and many businesses and community organisations enjoy the welcoming, stimulating environment for conferencing, training, and networking events. Our award-winning £8.5M capital expansion (completed in 2023) has created new commercial opportunities for us, and we aim to grow our Food and Beverage operation into a highly popular and profitable business with turnover exceeding £1M by the end of 2027/28. About the Role We are seeking an ambitious and commercially-driven Commercial Development Manager to join Phoenixs senior management team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced business development professional to lead the growth of Phoenixs commercial activities, including Café Bar operations, food and beverage-led events, venue hire, and conferencing. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new revenue opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving sustainable business growth. You will work collaboratively across the organisation to strengthen Phoenixs commercial offer while supporting its long-term strategic objectives. Summary of Key Responsibilities - Drive business growth by identifying new commercial opportunities, partnerships, and markets, with a focus on F&B business, sponsorship, hires, and conferencing. - Develop and implement strategies to expand revenue streams, lead client negotiations, and prepare commercial proposals, tenders, and contracts. - Support commercial strategy through market analysis, competitor research, and performance improvement initiatives. - Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams across programme, marketing, operations, and finance. - Monitor financial performance, prepare forecasts and budgets, and ensure commercial agreements deliver profitability and value. - Oversee contracts and projects to ensure successful delivery, legal compliance, and alignment with organisational objectives.
