You'll be working with a wide range of tools and equipment to recondition various engine components and contribute to the restoration of engines for a variety of customers. As an engine reconditioner, you will be responsible for inspecting, machining and reconditioning engine parts using both manual and powered equipment. - Reconditioning cylinder heads and engines. - Performing cylinder head and engine block skimming/facing. - Working with lathes, mills, boring machines and pressure testers. - Carrying out crankshaft grinding, valve seat cutting and valve refacing. - Diagnosing issues and ensuring all work is completed to high standards of precision and quality. - Maintaining workshop cleanliness, safety procedures and equipment care. We're seeking someone who is proactive, willing to learn and has a genuine interest in engine reconditioning and mechanical work. You don't need to be fully qualified but, some knowledge or experience is required. - Have an interest or background in engine reconditioning and mechanical work. - Be comfortable operating and maintaining older manual machinery, (lathes, mills, boring machines, crankshaft grinding). - Have a basic knowledge of engine components and mechanical systems. - Show a strong commitment to producing high-quality, precise work. - Be keen to learn, improve skills, and work independently as we;; as a part of a team. - Be reliable, punctual and safety conscious. - Be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
