How you'll make an impact • Technical Underwriting & Expertise: Support the Motor underwriting function, providing technical expertise across all Motor lines. Handle referrals and underwriting for both new and existing business, contributing to profitable growth., • Underwriting Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal underwriting governance, including audits, peer reviews, and risk assessments. Collaborate with the Head of Motor for guidance on process improvements and policy updates., • Capacity Management & Relationships: Support the management of capacity relationships, ensuring strong and collaborative engagement. Participate in reporting, portfolio reviews, and capacity-related meetings., • Market Expertise & Broker Relationships: Demonstrate market expertise with knowledge of industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes. Monitor market trends and competitor activity to ensure competitive positioning., • Retention of renewal business and high customer retention rates., • Growth in Gross Written Premium (GWP) and maintenance of rate strength., • Performance against underwriting profitability and loss ratio targets., • Technical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of general insurance (London Market / Lloyd’s and Industry) products, services, and understanding of underlying legal principles., • Experience: Previous Motor Fleet underwriting experience. Previous experience in managing a scheme/portfolio is desirable., • Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, verbal and written communication.
