Job Title: Senior Event Manager \n Department: Hospitality & Events / Operations \n Package: £40,000 - £45,000 \n Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent role \n Location: Sandown Park Racecourse (covering Epsom & Kempton Park too) \n Reports to: Group Hospitality Operations Manager \n \n Join Jockey Club Experiences as a Senior Event Manager and immerse yourself in the world of premium sports hospitality and entertainment. \n \n As a market leader in horse racing hospitality, Jockey Club Experiences creates unforgettable moments at some of the UK’s most iconic racecourses, including Cheltenham, Aintree, Epsom Downs, and Newmarket. \n \n THE PURPOSE \n As Senior Event Manager, you'll play a leading role in delivering our premium hospitality portfolio across some of the UK's most iconic racecourses. \n You'll oversee the planning, commercial performance and delivery of a diverse portfolio of raceday events, ensuring every experience is delivered to the highest standard. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, venue partners and suppliers, you'll drive operational excellence, support revenue growth and lead, develop and inspire a high-performing events team. \n \n This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced event professional who combines strong commercial awareness with exceptional attention to detail and a passion for creating unforgettable guest experiences. \n \n YOU’LL BE DOING \n Leading Event Delivery \n\n • Managing a portfolio of premium hospitality events from planning through to on-site delivery and post-event review.\n, • Ensuring all events are commercially viable, operationally ready and delivered to an exceptional standard.\n, • Acting as the key point of contact for venues, caterers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.\n, • Leading event-day operations and providing hands-on support to ensure a seamless guest experience.\n\n Driving Commercial Success \n\n • Supporting the development and enhancement of our hospitality products and guest experiences.\n, • Working closely with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure products are successfully launched, promoted and sold.\n, • Managing event budgets and supporting profitability across your event portfolio.\n, • Identifying opportunities to improve customer experience, maximise revenue and drive continuous improvement.\n\n Planning & Operational Excellence \n\n • Overseeing event timelines, ticketing requirements, seating plans and supplier management.\n, • Ensuring hospitality packages, event information and operational processes are accurately maintained.\n, • Managing risk and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and company procedures.\n, • Supporting the development of best practice processes across the events function.\n\n Leadership & Team Development \n\n • Leading, coaching and developing Event Managers and wider event teams.\n, • Creating a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.\n, • Conducting regular one-to-ones, providing guidance and supporting professional development.\n, • Working closely with senior stakeholders to contribute to business objectives and operational strategy.\n\n \n \n YOU’LL HAVE \n\n • Proven experience managing large-scale events within hospitality, sports, entertainment or live event environments.\n, • Experience leading, coaching and developing successful teams.\n, • Strong commercial awareness, including budget management and delivering against financial targets.\n, • Experience working with multiple venues, suppliers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality events.\n, • Excellent planning, organisational and project management skills.\n, • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.\n, • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends in line with the race day event calendar.\n\n \n \n YOU’LL RECEIVE \n\n • We care for our people, and it shows:\n, • 23 days of holiday plus bank holidays and your birthday off\n, • Learning and development opportunities across Compass Group\n, • Relaxed dress code - dress for your day\n, • Medicash healthcare plan (including up to 4 dependents)\n, • Free meals every shift\n, • Holiday buy-back scheme (up to 10 days)\n, • Perks at Work discounts platform\n, • Corporate gym membership (20% off)\n, • Free eye tests and contribution towards lenses\n, • Flexible working policy\n, • Enhanced Maternity pay (18 weeks at 90% base pay + 21 weeks at SMP)\n, • Enhanced Paternity pay (2 weeks at full pay)\n\n \n At Jockey Club Experiences, we’re proud to foster a workplace that values diversity and promotes inclusion.
