Do you want to work for a company that genuinely values your clinical expertise, career growth, and work-life balance? The Pet Vet Doncaster is looking for a Head Vet to drive clinical excellence, lead a passionate team, and shape the future of a practice that puts pets and people first. The Pet Vet began in 2011 as a single surgery in Doncaster with a clear and meaningful mission: to provide exceptional veterinary care tailored to the needs of every pet and their family. Over the years, we’ve grown rapidly and are now the UK’s largest family-owned independent veterinary group , while remaining true to the values that set us apart – compassionate care, community involvement, and a family-oriented culture . We continually invest in our people, facilities, and technology to ensure every pet receives the highest standard of care. Our Doncaster surgery has more than doubled in size since opening, reflecting the growing demand for accessible, quality veterinary services in the area. Our Doncaster practice is a perfect example of what makes The Pet Vet special: ~ A calm and welcoming environment, where the Customer Experience team isn’t tied to a desk or phone in the reception area. This allows them to build real bonds with customers, while pets stay relaxed and comfortable. ~ Modern, purpose-built facilities including six consult rooms, two operating theatres, a dental suite, an imaging suite, and separate wards for cats, dogs, and isolation patients. Thoughtfully designed workflows that prioritise patient care, efficiency, and team wellbeing at every step. At The Pet Vet, we don’t just care for pets – we care for the people who care for them. Our culture is designed so you can focus on what matters most, with every colleague supported to deliver outstanding veterinary care in an environment that values work-life balance, collaboration, and professional growth. Investing in Our People: We’re committed to nurturing talent and supporting every team member’s growth. Professional Development: We support your growth at every stage, offering opportunities to pursue postgraduate certificates, CertAVP, and advanced clinical interests, with full funding, access to the right equipment and guidance, and support to build your caseload and develop your expertise. Flexible Working: Work-life balance isn’t just a phrase here. That’s why we embrace flexible working. Whether you’re looking for full-time hours with a four-day week, a set day off, just one in four weekends, and no out-of-hours or on-call duties—or something a little different—we’d love to explore the options with you. Peer Network: It’s part professional development, part party—complete with activities like taskmaster, karaoke, and fancy dress dinner, that bring out everyone’s creative side. These moments help build friendships, spark innovation, and make life at The Pet Vet about more than just work. Being a Head Vet doesn’t mean stepping back from your own professional journey; You’ll continue developing your expertise through advanced procedures, postgraduate qualifications, or exploring specialised clinical interests. We provide the time, resources, and mentorship to help you build your caseload, take on challenging cases, and expand your skills—all while guiding and inspiring the team around you. At The Pet Vet, leadership and personal clinical growth go hand in hand. As Head Vet at our Doncaster practice, you’ll play a central role in shaping both the clinical and day-to-day running of the surgery, so every pet receives the very best care.
