Specialist Consultant on GMC Register Job post summary Date posted: 11 June 2026 Pay: £50 per completed appt or £150 per hour- sessional ( min 3 hours) Job Description: The Role We are looking for GMC-registered Consultants on the Specialist Register with experience in delivering specialist assessment, diagnosis and ongoing management within their area of expertise. The successful candidate will provide specialist consultations, develop personalised treatment plans, prescribe where clinically appropriate, and contribute to the ongoing development of clinical services. This is a fully remote position offering flexibility while maintaining the highest standards of clinical care, governance and patient safety. Key Responsibilities • Conduct comprehensive specialist consultations via video consultation., • Review medical histories, previous treatments and supporting clinical documentation., • Assess, diagnose and formulate evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs., • Prescribe conventional medications where clinically appropriate and within your scope of practice., • Assess patient suitability for Cannabis-Based Products for Medicinal Use (CBPMs), where clinically appropriate and where suitably trained., • Monitor treatment effectiveness, safety and patient outcomes., • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions and case reviews., • Support and mentor Non-Medical Prescribers and other clinicians within the service where appropriate., • Contribute to clinical governance activities including audits, incident reviews, policy development and quality improvement initiatives., • Ensure accurate and timely clinical record keeping using the clinic's electronic patient record system., • Maintain compliance with GMC standards, CQC requirements and Emerald Health Clinic policies and procedures. Essential Requirements • Full GMC registration with Licence to Practise., • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register., • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent within a recognised medical specialty., • Minimum three years' consultant-level experience (or equivalent experience where appropriate)., • Excellent communication and patient-centred consultation skills., • Comfortable working remotely using digital healthcare systems., • Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management and quality improvement., • Commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based care. Desirable Requirements • Previous experience within independent healthcare., • Experience in medical cannabis or cannabinoid medicine., • Membership of relevant Royal College or specialist society., • Membership of the UK Medical Cannabis Clinicians Society (UKMCCS) where applicable., • Experience supporting education, training or supervision of clinicians., • Interest in service development and innovation., • Experience participating in audit, research or quality improvement programmes.
