Site Engineer / Project Engineer (Electrical, OHL, Transmission, National Grid)\n\nTransmission, Distribution, OHL\n\nSalary: £dependent on experience + benefits + site bonuses\nBenefits: Company vehicle (for site travel), professional memberships, support toward chartership\n\nLocation: UK-wide (travel to project sites and office locations as required)\n\nType: Full-time\n\nARCA Resourcing is partnering with an ambitious and fast-growing engineering organisation within the UK construction and energy sector to recruit a Site / Project Engineer.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer looking to develop a well-rounded skillset across design, site delivery, and project engineering, working on high-voltage infrastructure and renewable energy projects across the UK.\n\nThe Role\n\nThis is a hybrid engineering role combining design coordination, CAD work, project support, and site-based responsibilities.\n\nYou’ll gain exposure across the full project lifecycle - from early-stage surveys and design through to construction, commissioning, and close-out - supporting the delivery of substations, overhead lines, cable installations, and grid connection schemes.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Interface with clients including National Grid and UK DNOs\n\n * Support communication between site teams, design teams, and project leadership\n\n * Coordinate and support topographical, environmental, and utility surveys\n\n * Produce and update 2D and 3D CAD drawings for design and construction use\n\n * Assist with preparation of technical documentation, including method statements and construction phase plans\n\n * Coordinate site logistics, deliveries, and supply chain interfaces\n\n * Assist in managing site activities to ensure safe and efficient delivery\n\n * Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives\n\n * Support implementation of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) standards\n\n * Contribute to risk assessments, HAZIDs, and constructability reviews\n\n * Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and site safety requirements\n\n * Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant CAD software (e.g. Civil 3D, MicroStation)\n\n * Understanding of transmission & distribution or renewable energy projects\n\n * Awareness of health & safety legislation, including CDM\n\n * Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills\n\nExperience & Qualifications\n\nEssential:\n\n * Experience on live construction or infrastructure projects in an engineering or supervisory role\n\n * Practical understanding of site-based project delivery\n\n * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel\n\nDesirable:\n\n * Experience working on National Grid or DNO projects\n\n * Familiarity with project controls (cost, programme, risk)\n\n * Exposure to substations, overhead lines, cables, or grid connections\n\n * Progress toward or holding relevant authorisations (e.g. SR163, Competent Person, NSI8)\n\n * Experience with UAV surveys, GIS systems, or digital field tools\n\nWhy Apply?\n\n * Work with a forward-thinking and growing organisation in the energy sector\n\n * Gain exposure across design, site delivery, and project engineering\n\n * Be involved in high-profile UK infrastructure and renewable projects\n\n * Strong support for career development and professional progression\n\n * Competitive salary, benefits, and performance-related bonuses\n\nApply Now\n\nIf you’re a motivated engineer looking to build a diverse career across project delivery and site engineering, we’d love to hear from you.
