Job Title: Site Manager Job Location: Edinburgh Employer: A leading UK Design & Build Contractor Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent, £50k + Benefits Role Overview The Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management, coordination, and delivery of a multi-storey student accommodation development in Edinburgh. The role involves leading on-site operations to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards, in line with company procedures and client expectations. Key Responsibilities Site Management & Coordination • Oversee all site activities, ensuring efficient planning, sequencing, and execution of works., • Manage subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring clear communication of daily tasks and targets., • Maintain a safe working environment, enforcing company H&S policies and statutory regulations., • Conduct regular site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings., • Monitor the project programme, reporting progress and risks to senior management., • Work closely with Project and Contracts Managers to maintain sequencing and productivity levels., • Liaise with the client’s representatives, design team, and external consultants as required., • Ensure clear communication between all site personnel and off-site project teams., • Maintain site records including daily diaries, progress photos, delivery notes, and H&S documentation., • Ensure accurate reporting of progress, delays, variations, and site issues. Essential • Proven experience as a Site Manager on multi-storey residential, PBSA, or mixed-use developments., • Strong working knowledge of construction processes, sequencing, and subcontractor management., • Experience delivering projects within a fast-paced design & build environment., • Experience working on urban regeneration or constrained city-centre sites., • Knowledge of modern methods of construction (MMC) or off-site manufacturing approaches., • Strong leadership and team-management abilities., • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills., • Attention to detail with a proactive approach to safety and quality., • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload under pressure., • Opportunity to work with a well-established contractor on a high-profile city-centre development., • Competitive salary and benefits package (structure dependent on employer)., • Supportive project and senior leadership teams committed to professional growth., • Long-term career progression opportunities within a growing organisation.
