Youth Development WorkerLOCATION:Redruth, CornwallSALARY: £15.34 + holiday pay DURATION: Temporary contract until end September (with scope to go permanent)HOURS: 37.5 hours per week – Shifts between 8am – 8pm, Monday to SundayAbout The Role:We are recruiting a Youth Development Worker to join a supported accommodation service in Redruth, helping young people experiencing homelessness to build confidence, develop life skills, and move towards independent living. The service takes a strength-based approach, encouraging young people to aim high, build their independence, and work towards their ambitions. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team supporting young people in a supported living accommodation, with occasional short periods of lone working.Key Responsibilities:\n\n • Provide one-to-one key worker support to young people aged 16–25.\n, • Develop and review support and action plans tailored to individual goals.\n, • Update and manage risk assessments and risk management plans.\n, • Support young people with tenancy and housing management.\n, • Assist with benefits applications (e.g., Universal Credit, PIP, Housing Benefit).\n, • Guide young people in budgeting, paying bills, and managing finances.\n, • Explore and support pathways into education, training, and employment.\n, • Collaborate with external agencies (mental health, domestic violence services, landlords, etc.).\n, • Help young people prepare for independent living and successful move-on.\n, • Adapt communication styles to provide person-centred, creative support.\n This is a role where your personality and approach really matter.
