About the role This role is accountable for developing and leading a high‑performing team by setting clear direction, coaching colleagues, and fostering a culture of success in line with Tesco’s manager expectations. It drives continuous improvement initiatives and oversees the design of end‑to‑end Controls Frameworks for new processes and People systems within transformation projects, ensuring the right level of control is embedded. The role owns and enhances Risk and Control Matrices (RACMs), establishes KPIs to monitor the control environment, and partners with Global Process Owners, Service Leads, Group Risk, and Internal and External Audit. You will be responsible for • Initiates and designs continuous improvements initiatives to drive performance within their teams, • Ownership and responsibility to update and continuously improve Risk and Control Matricies (RACMs), • Creating KPIs to monitor the control environment for the end-to-end processes, • Business Partnering with Global Process Owners, Process Team and Service Leads on changes to process that impact the Controls Framework, • Business Partnering with 3rd line teams in Internal and External Audit, • Business Partnering with 2nd line teams such as Group Risk, • Review and support the design and operational effectiveness testing of key and non-key controls by working with the testing team in India, • Oversee and support the documentation and preparation of Governance Reporting, and presenting at the respective forums, • Providing technical guidance and deliver training to control performers and owners, • Reviewing and re-engineering procedures, formulating policy, process, controls and compliance ensuring risk mitigation, • People leadership responsibilities You will need • Control Transformation Controls knowledge in Compliance, IT and Audit, • HR controls knowledge is desirable Enterprise controls and compliance, • Internal and External Audit Team Management/ People Management, • Presentation skills, • Retail operations, • Critical thinking, • Business Partnering, • Attention to detail, • Finance awareness including ICFR, • Prioritisation We’re all about the little helps.
