Department: Academic/Bath Spa University partnership (BSU) Location: Greenford or Stratford (On-Site) Salary: £55,000 Type of Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (40 hours per week) Our Vision: Changing lives through education. The role: We are currently seeking Lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of our BSc (Hons) Computing programme. Due to our delivery model, we require flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and at weekends. Please note this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. What you'll be doing: As a Lecturer in Computing at Global Banking School, you will deliver modules based around the three main themes of the programme: Technology, Software, and Data. You will develop and deliver comprehensive course materials, that will equip students with an understanding of database systems, internet technologies, data, cyber security, networking, and business information systems. You will undertake all aspects of learning, teaching and assessment of students and keep up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices. Responsibilities include: • All aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met, • Developing, updating, and improving course materials as appropriate, • Using a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials, • Actively engaging in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties, • Understanding and keeping up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices, • You will hold a Master's degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable), • You will have previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area, • You will be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of two or more of the following areas:, • Programming and software development, • Web development, • Database systems, • Cloud computing, • Networking, • Cybersecurity, • IoT and emerging technologies, • Business IT systems, • IT management, • AI and Machine Learning, • Operating Systems, • UI/UX, • You will have experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback, • You will have experience of accurate reporting and ability to maintain thorough and organised student records, • You will be able to work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines, • You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and team-working skills, • You will hold a Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years) or Fellowship of HEA (or international equivalent), • 25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holiday, • 1-day extra leave per year of service, up to a maximum of 5 days, • Workplace pension scheme, • Tuition reimbursement for career development courses, • Flexible Benefits: Cycle to Work, Workplace Nursery, Tech scheme and much more, • Perks@Work discounts platform, wellbeing centre and much more, • Reward and recognition programme, • £500 award employee referral scheme — John Traichaisit, Consultant Lecturer GBS is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and providing a workplace free from discrimination or harassment. Role Title: DevOps Engineer Duration: contract to run until 30/04/2026 Location: Croydon, Remote (but any onsite days needed to be agreed) Rate: up to £565.80 p/d Umbrella inside IR35 Clearance required: Active SC Clearance is essential Role purpose / Skillset • Experience of Java, • Experience of Spring framework or equivalent., • Knowledge of software design patterns and when to apply them, • Excellent knowledge of development processes., • Experience of containerisation using Docker or Kubernetes, • Experience of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD), • A passion for delivering quality code, by use of TDD and setting high software quality standard We’re also using the following technologies and patterns, it would be great if you had some of the skills, if not we can help develop them: • Designing microservice-based architectures using domain driven design (DDD).
