We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our clients dynamic Operations team at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hethel, Norwich.\n\n We currently have FTC role for a 6 month duration.\n\nSummary:\n\nSupport the cars side of the business in the technical management and maintenance of existing production lines and development and introduction of new processes and tooling to support new products to those lines.\n\nThe role provides the opportunity to undertake a wide range of tasks and enables the successful candidate to work with many different areas of the business.\n\nOngoing opportunity to have a direct impact on the success of the assembly operation, influencing in its day to day activities and the way it could operate in the future.\n\nInvestigate opportunities to embrace new technologies and innovations into the Lotus manufacturing environment to improve both efficiencies and overall product quality.\n\nWhat you'll do:\n\nCreation of production processes, update assignments and align to manufacturing build requirements.\n\nStudy operations sequence, material flow, fixturing / tooling, process documents / statements with the aim of improving line balancing, throughput and efficient working procedures\n\nDraft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency.\n\nCreation / development and maintenance of Process Sheets from engineering released data.\n\nProduction & Project support as required\n\nPublish clear and concise information including all aspect of Man / Method / Machine (tooling) / Material to manufacturing\n\nCo-ordinate with Training department to ensure suitable "On the Job" training for new processes.\n\nPerform and support time studies for all Product / Process / Component changes to ensure manufacturing's ability to achieve to required Quality / Cost / Deliver elements\n\nPerform periodic Process Audits to ensure products are being built to release Manufacturing Engineering information (Man / Method / Machine / Material)\n\nSupport investigation of Concern / Problem resolution\n\nIdentify build issues/concerns and make relevant parties aware. Assist in finding solutions and follow all actions for resolution on Continuous Improvement tracking system\n\nSupport implementation, control and closure of Deviations from standard production processes.\n\nSupport new tooling / fixtures design and development / specification for introduction into manufacturing environment\n\nSupport of tooling, equipment & facilities specification, procurement, installation, commissioning\n\nProve out new tooling and fixtures and provide constructive feedback.\n\nMaintenance of tooling & jig registers\n\nSupport the build of cars during EP, VP, Pilot and SOP phases.\n\nEstablish daily status (from VP stage onwards) of new project introductions with regards to the 4M requirements i.e. Man - Machine - Method – Material\n\nAdopt a positive approach to coaching and facilitation and supporting manufacturing supervision to help them successfully achieve the Launch Plan and its objectives.\n\nSupport estimation of production cost and effect of product design changes for management review, action, and control\n\nSupport production / engineering / projects with technical input / information to include full understanding of engineering releases / support virtual build events and the ability to create process documentation / define equipment - tooling - Jig requirements for production operatives to ensure RFT build\n\nWhat you'll bring:\n\n Essential:\n\nExperience is\n\nHNC/ HND/ Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering\n\nPrevious manufacturing, production & engineering knowledge.\n\nAbility to demonstrate ongoing skills learning and achievement in area of Manufacturing.\n\nUsed to working in a production environment\n\nSelf-motivated & driven to succeed.\n\nPositive ‘can do’ attitude, eye for detail,\n\n methodical and measured approach.\n\nExperience of DFMEA and PFMEA processes and related outcome documentation within the Manufacturing Control framework.\n\nGood understanding of problem solving, poke yoke and capability modelling.\n\nDesirable:\n\nHigher qualifications than Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering\n\nLean thinking or six sigma trained.\n\nVery good working knowledge of niche vehicle & OEM automotive industries.\n\nOut-going, pro-active team player.\n\nKnowledge of TAKT time, capacity modelling and line balancing activities.\n\nA level of knowledge associated with PLC system design, layout optimisation, traceability systems and tooling assessment.\n\nWhat we offer:\n\n25 Vacation Days + Bank Holidays: Recharge, explore, or binge-watch your favorite series with plenty of time to relax and enjoy life outside of work. • pro rata.\n\nFuture-Proof Pension: Plan for your tomorrow while thriving today with a solid pension scheme to keep your future bright.\n\nPrivate Healthcare: Stay healthy and stress-free with premium healthcare coverage tailored to keep you at your best.\n\nAdditional Information:\n\nCandidates must be eligible to work in UK without VISA sponsorship.\n\nOffice and production line environment\n\nDomestic & international travel may be required by agreement\nIf you feel you have the skills to succeed in this role, please click to apply.\n \n Arden White specialises in technical engineering recruitment, and all job applications are managed by our team.
