Job Title: Asset Supervisor - Finance Location: Oxford Road, Manchester Salary: £32,080 to £36,636 per annum, depending on relevant experience Job type: Full Time, Permanent Hours Per Week: 35 Hours Closing date: 30/09/2025 About the Role: We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Finance Asset Supervisor to join our Facilities Maintenance and Compliance (FMC) team at this university. In this role, you will supervise financial support operations, ensuring high standards of budgeting, reporting, and financial control across a busy, customer-focused estates environment. You will allocate and oversee the work of the FMC Finance Support Team, resolve complex queries, and provide advice to colleagues at all levels of the University. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, leading a small team, and driving improvements in financial systems and processes. Key Responsibilities: • Supervise and allocate work within the FMC Finance Support Team, ensuring high standards and timely delivery., • Provide financial administration and reporting support, contributing to the smooth running of FMC operations., • Process purchase orders and invoices, resolving supplier and customer queries., • Analyse and reconcile accounts, resolving discrepancies and preparing journal transfers., • Advise colleagues on financial regulations, coding, authorisation, and approval limits., • Develop and improve financial processes and systems, incorporating KPIs to monitor performance. Essential Skills and Experience: • A financial/administrative qualification (degree or higher) or significant experience in a similar finance role., • AAT qualified or higher., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and computerised finance systems (e.g., Oracle, Sage)., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with colleagues across all levels., • Experience with public sector procurement policies and procedures., • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines., • Supervisory experience, with the ability to motivate and support staff., • Advanced Excel and Power BI skills., • Experience of CAFM systems such as Concerto., • Previous experience in Higher Education or Estates & Facilities.
