Production Supervisor - Nights (FMCG)\n\n📍 Location: Bolton\n\n💷 Salary: £38,640 per year\n\n🌙 Shift: Night Shift - Monday to Thursday 10am to 6am, Friday 8pm to 3am\n\nStafforce Recruitment are recruiting for a Production Supervisor to join a well-established FMCG manufacturing site on a permanent night shift. This role is ideal for an experienced production leader who is confident managing teams in a high-volume, fast-moving food production environment while maintaining strict standards in safety, quality, and efficiency.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs the Night Shift Production Supervisor, you will take full ownership of your shift, ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and in line with FMCG food manufacturing standards. You will be responsible for delivering daily production targets, maintaining food safety compliance, managing labour costs, and driving continuous improvement across your area.\n\nThis role requires a hands-on leader who can motivate teams, manage performance, and ensure the site consistently delivers right-first-time production in a fast-paced environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead the shift to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant food production operations\nEnsure full adherence to food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and site procedures\nDeliver the daily production plan, ensuring shift performance achieves >90% conformance\nMonitor line performance, throughput, and capacity to maximise productivity\nTake ownership of quality performance, investigating complaints and non-conformances\nDrive a right-first-time culture to minimise waste and rework\nLead continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs\nManage labour planning, staffing levels, and absence management\nConduct return-to-work interviews and support employee wellbeing\nDevelop and coach production team members to improve skills, performance, and engagement\nLead shift communication meetings, reviewing KPIs across safety, quality, delivery, and cost\nEnsure the factory environment meets the high hygiene and operational standards required in food manufacturing\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nEssential\n\nExperience supervising teams within FMCG or food manufacturing\nStrong knowledge of production processes in a high-volume manufacturing environment\nUnderstanding of food safety, quality standards, and hygiene requirements\nExperience managing and motivating teams within a fast-paced production environment\nKnowledge of process improvement and cost control\nStrong organisational, communication, and leadership skills\nIT literateDesirable\n\nExperience working in a unionised manufacturing environment\nFormal qualification in manufacturing, production, or engineering \n\nAbout Us\n\nWe are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
