About The Role Transport Manager Working hours 37 Hours per week Permanent Salary - £50,000 up to £59,000 (depending on experience) and Car Allowance Location Hybrid working with a base at Leat House, Washington, Tyne & Wear We’re open to discussing flexible working About The Role We have an exciting opportunity to join the Fleet team as our Transport Manager. This is a key role in ensuring we deliver the vital service for our customers daily. This role will be named on our Standard National Operator’s licence in the north and our Restricted licence in the south, giving you responsibility for the continuous and effective control of our fleet, in line with Statutory Documents set out by the Traffic Commissioner This is a varied and rewarding role as you’ll spend time at our sites, ensuring our vehicles, drivers and records are up to standard. You’ll support our depot managers with digital tachograph and drivers’ hours management to help ensure our vehicles are routinely checked. Building relationships is key as you’ll communicate with colleagues to ensure they have the information they need and our Fleet Manager to ensure every vehicle is safe for our colleagues. You’ll also support our Fleet Services Manager, deputising where required. You will also have line management responsibilities and with the team’s support, use data to support your decision making, taking a lead in compliance to help us protect our OCRS score and progress towards Earned Recognition. You’ll spot risks and identify efficiencies, ensuring our fleet team deliver the best possible service, and help us in our duty to bring all of our people Home Safely. About You If you are an experienced Transport Manager with a national, or international CPC and up to demonstrable CPD then we want to hear from you. The successful candidate will be detailed focused, demonstrating the ability to investigate risks and spot trends before they become incidents. Whether you’re walking around a vehicle with a driver or reviewing brake test reports, you’ll know exactly what to look for and how to act on what you find. You’ll use your up-to-date vehicle knowledge and technical understanding to challenge appropriately. This means you’ll be an effective communicator, adapting your style depending on your audience.
