Location: Newport, South Wales Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £27,000 - £31,000 + shift allowance (30% / 20% / 50%) Shift Patterns 12 hour shifts. Days: 7am-7pm Nights: 7pm-7am Front End: Back End: Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue Wed, Thu, Fri Sun, Mon, Tue Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat As an Equipment Shift Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting both equipment up-time and manufacturing performance. Working within a high tech clean-room environment, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and improve semiconductor production tools, ensuring efficient equipment operation across assigned shifts. Key Responsibilities • Perform and sustain Preventive Maintenance (PMs) on semiconductor production equipment, • Troubleshoot equipment issues and carry out first level fault recovery, • Support equipment improvement projects, experiments, and tool health activities, • Achieve required equipment performance metrics across each shift, • Follow documented procedures for equipment checks, PMs, and OCAPs, • BTEC/HNC in Engineering or working towards an equivalent qualification, • Ability to interpret technical procedures and produce structured observation reports, • Understanding of modern manufacturing concepts (JIT, KANBAN, Zero Defects, SPC, TQM, TPM), • Strong organisational, prioritisation, and problem? xrnqpay solving skills, • Awareness of clean-room protocols and expectations, • Fully funded training and development, • Clear career progression routes, • Life assurance (4 base salary), • Annual merit review, • Free Bupa private healthcare (for you), • Competitive pension scheme (up to 7% employer contribution), • Employee Assistance Programme, • Onsite gym, sports & social clubs, • Retail, leisure and entertainment discounts
