Teacher of Physical Education Key Information: Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kent Contract Type: Full time, maternity cover Salary: £135 - £200 per day Start Date: September 2026 At Academics, we are looking for a Teacher of Physical Education to support with maternity cover from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing PE department within a school renowned for both academic and sporting excellence.The ability to teach Level 3 Health and Social Care would be advantageous but is not essential. The school has a well-established and ambitious competitive programme, particularly in netball and rugby supported by state of the art facilities. Students are highly motivated, enthusiastic, and actively engaged in both academic and enrichment opportunities, contributing to a vibrant and positive school culture. The Role: Deliver high-quality Physical Education lessons across Key Stages, including A Level Contribute to an extensive extracurricular sports programme Support competitive school sport, particularly in areas such as netball and rugby Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential Contribute to the wider school community and enrichment provisionKey Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Own a DBS or willing to apply for one A degree in Physical Education or a related subject Ability to teach PE up to A Level Strong subject knowledge and a passion for sport and physical education Willingness to contribute to extracurricular and competitive sport Ability to teach Level 3 Health and Social Care (desirable) Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills Strong communication and teamwork skills A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeingThe School Offers: Outstanding academic and sporting reputation A collaborative and supportive teaching environment Access to excellent sports facilities Strong focus on professional development and career progression Highly motivated and engaged students A positive and inclusive school culture Academics are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, therefore all applicants will be subject to a full face-to-face registration and an Enhanced DBS (Formerly known as CRB)
