Electrical Technician Rolling Stock / System Technician Location: Liverpool Salary: £58,070 (including shift allowances), rising to £61,699 upon competency completion Hours: 35 hours per week, shift-based (including nights and weekends on a 24/7 rota) Are you an electrical technician with fault-finding and diagnostic skills? Responsibilities: • Conducting advanced fault-finding and identifying repairs, • Supporting condition monitoring and manually monitored systems on modern locomotives, • Collaborating with performance engineers and production teams to resolve technical issues, • Acting as a systems specialist (training and support provided), • Performing system tests and precise measurements on electrical, electronic, software, and mechanical systems What we’re looking for: • Recognised engineering apprenticeship (minimum Level 3, City & Guilds / BTEC) with Electrical, Mechanical, or electronic bias, • Experienced in maintenance engineering, • Electrical and diagnostic skills, including the ability to read schematics and lead fault investigations, • Confidence in solving technical problems and collaborating across teams Applicants will be required to pass an electrical fault-finding assessment as part of the recruitment process.
