The Role The Senior Engineer will sit at the heart of the technical team, providing expertise across all stages of residential development—from early land appraisals through to completed sites. Covering projects throughout the East Midlands and Yorkshire, the role offers exposure to a diverse mix of developments, each designed to be unique and to reflect their setting. Key responsibilities: • Lead on the engineering aspects of multiple residential projects, ensuring infrastructure, highways, drainage, and utilities are designed, approved, and delivered efficiently., • Provide strategic input during land acquisition and planning, identifying risks and opportunities., • Manage relationships with external consultants, local authorities, highways departments, and statutory undertakers., • Oversee technical approvals, including S38, S278, S104, and S185 agreements., • Support construction teams on-site, resolving engineering queries and ensuring compliance with design standards and regulations., • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and innovation in design and sustainability. Skills and experience required: • Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)., • Chartered, Incorporated, or actively working toward professional recognition (ICE or similar)., • Solid experience in residential development infrastructure, ideally gained with a housebuilder or consultancy., • Proven knowledge of UK planning and adoption processes (S38, S278, S104, S185)., • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously., • Strong communicator with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
