Requirement for a Connections Designer to deliver projects for DNOs. To be based at the DNO's premises or at our Colchester office.\n\nYou will be proficient in:\n\n * Design and costing of LV & 11kV (up to and including 132 kV) projects for new Connections, asset replacement, non-rechargeable and diversions\n\n * Analysing network issues and performance problems, and propose technically sound and cost-effective solutions\n\n * Analysing generation connections and issue jobs for Witness Testing\n\n * Producing concise business cases in the correct format and present them for authorisation in a timely manner to deliver the Production Plan\n\n * Determining the appropriate point of connection (POC) for new load and generation enquiries from LV up to and including 132 kV\n\n * Undertaking site visits and meetings as necessary\n\nIdeally you will also be aware of:\n\n * Electricity network regulations / NERS requirements\n\n * DNO or Grid code for protection settings\n\n * Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) requirements in the electricity industry\n\nYou should have the following skills:\n\n * Confident, motivated and dynamic\n\n * Versatility – able to turn your hand to a wide range of proposals\n\n * Good verbal and paper communication skills\n\n * Working well under deadline pressure\n\n * Self-assessment/critique\n\n * Self-sufficient\n\nRequired education and training:\n\n * it is essential that as a minimum you possess an HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in electrical/electronic engineering or physics\n\n * Incorporated Engineer/member of the IET/Chartered Engineer
