Quality Engineer Location: Dunstable Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a Quality Assurance team within a busy industrial manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on Quality Engineer role supporting Production, Engineering and Manufacturing teams to maintain and continuously improve product quality, reliability and compliance. You will play a key role in ensuring components, sub-assemblies and finished products meet the required standards, while helping to prevent quality issues from progressing through the manufacturing process or reaching the customer. Key Responsibilities as a Quality Engineer • Support Production and Engineering teams with quality-related issues, investigations and improvement activities., • Lead and support root cause investigations and corrective actions using tools such as 8D, Ishikawa, FMEA and Control Plans., • Create, execute, review and report on product and process qualification testing., • Monitor incoming and outgoing quality and identify opportunities for improvement., • Raise and manage quality notifications/alerts when non-conformances are identified., • Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) process., • Support fault finding and investigation of customer returns, working closely with Production, Engineering and R&D., • Review and approve small process deviations and product concessions, ensuring these are appropriately documented., • Review verification and validation activities for existing and new processes., • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality and manufacturing processes. About You as a Quality Engineer • A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience., • Experience within aerospace, automotive or another highly regulated manufacturing environment would be advantageous., • Practical engineering knowledge and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes., • Experience using quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, Control Plans and Ishikawa/root cause analysis., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, Sales, customers and suppliers., • A proactive approach, with the confidence to identify issues, investigate root causes and drive improvements through to completion.
