Desian Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced Year 1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with ADHD in a welcoming and supportive primary school in Runcorn. The role is part time 8.30am – 2.00pm Monday to Friday The Role: The successful candidate will work closely with a Year 6 pupil on a one-to-one basis, providing tailored academic and emotional support to help them access the curriculum, remain engaged in learning, and prepare for the transition to secondary education. Key Responsibilities: • Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with ADHD, • Support learning across the KS1 curriculum, particularly in core subjects, • Implement strategies to support focus, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour, • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals, • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment, • Supporting with phonics interventions The Ideal Candidate Will Have: • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly ADHD, • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, • A calm, patient, and proactive approach, • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development, • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one) Why Work with Desian Education? • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant, • Opportunities for professional development, • Competitive rates of pay, • Access to a range of local Teaching Assistant roles If you are an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child’s education before taking the next steps into Primary education, we would love to hear from you.
