A vacancy has arisen within the Maintenance department for an experienced Maintenance Manager – Analytics, based primarily at our Barnsley site, with regular travel to other factories across Yorkshire to support operational requirements. This is a key role focused on improving asset reliability, equipment performance and maintenance strategy across the business. Working closely with the Maintenance, Production and Quality teams, you will identify and reduce risks associated with critical assets, minimise equipment failures and maximise production uptime. You will play a leading role in developing and improving asset care strategies, using Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Condition-Based Monitoring, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Lean Continuous Improvement methodologies. We are looking for a forward-thinking, analytical and hands-on maintenance professional who can combine strong engineering knowledge with the ability to lead, influence and develop others. Key Responsibilities • Provide Maintenance Manager cover across the Rotherham and Barnsley sites during periods of annual leave., • Develop and deliver a long-term maintenance and asset reliability strategy., • Lead failure analysis, fault elimination and asset reliability improvement activities., • Identify risks associated with critical assets and implement effective mitigation strategies., • Develop and integrate condition-based monitoring processes to improve asset reliability and reduce unplanned downtime., • Review, improve and optimise Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities., • Develop and implement asset care plans using RCM and FMEA principles., • Support improvements to production processes, equipment performance and overall machine output., • Analyse CMMS data, downtime trends, maintenance performance and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement., • Lead structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and ensure effective corrective and preventative actions are implemented., • Create, implement and maintain robust planned maintenance standards and procedures., • Lead and support Continuous Improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency., • Work collaboratively with Production, Quality and Maintenance teams to identify and deliver reliability improvements., • Lead, coach and mentor maintenance team members, promoting reliability-focused working practices and a culture of continuous improvement., • Ensure maintenance activities are prioritised effectively and delivered within agreed timescales., • Travel between Yorkshire sites as required to support operational and maintenance requirements. About You You will have proven experience within a reliability engineering, maintenance engineering or maintenance management environment, with a strong understanding of manufacturing assets, maintenance strategies and continuous improvement. Ideally, you will have experience working within a manufacturing environment, with experience in woodworking, FMCG, packaging or a similarly fast-paced production environment being advantageous. You will also have: • A proven track record in a maintenance or reliability engineering role., • Experience developing and implementing maintenance strategies and asset care plans., • Experience with PPM, condition-based monitoring, failure analysis and Root Cause Analysis., • Experience analysing CMMS data, downtime information and maintenance KPIs., • Experience implementing or supporting Continuous Improvement initiatives., • A strong understanding of Lean methodologies and waste reduction., • Experience using RCM and/or FMEA principles would be advantageous., • A Lean Six Sigma qualification/certificate would be desirable., • Excellent timekeeping and time management skills., • Strong organisational, written, numerical and analytical skills., • Good computer literacy and confidence working with maintenance and business systems., • A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel between sites when required. Essential Skills & Personal Qualities You must be: An experienced multi-skilled engineer with a strong engineering background. Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline. Able to effectively lead, motivate, coach and manage a maintenance team. A confident communicator who can build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels. Comfortable working collaboratively with Maintenance, Production and Quality teams. Able to work effectively under pressure while maintaining deadlines and operational priorities. Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a wider team. Analytical and solutions-focused, with the ability to identify problems and deliver practical improvements. Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail. Committed to driving reliability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
