Looking for a role where your expertise can truly make an impact? We’re on the hunt for 3 passionate Connections Engineers to join our Connections Business Development Team at Northern Powergrid. We welcome candidates with qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering and experience across different levels: • Junior roles: Plant Engineer, CAD Engineer, Power Systems Engineer, Project Engineer, Cables Engineer, Protection Engineer, Project Manager (2-3 years industry experience), • Mid/Senior roles: Project Managers, Power Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, Connections Engineer This is a fantastic opportunity to work on major projects connecting large factories and power stations to our extra high voltage networks, playing a critical part in the UK's decarbonisation and Clean Power 2030 initiative. As a Connections Business Development Engineer, you will be a key enabler in helping our customers transition to a low-carbon economy through the deployment of flexible connection solutions that utilise new and emerging technologies and commercial arrangements. Along with a competitive salary of between £53,711 - £73,451 we also offer great benefits such as; • Enrolment into our pension scheme, • 25 days holiday (rising with service) plus bank holidays, • Excellent opportunities for career growth, • Technical incentive scheme Key Responsibilities • Deliver quotation services for EHV connections on time and within licence requirements, • Manage the EHV customer experience and relationship from first approach to final connection, • Engage with customers to develop innovative and flexible connection solutions supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy, • Ensure compliance with regulatory and charging policies, • Produce executive-level quotation approval documentation, • Interpret technical appraisal documentation and create effective contracts, • Manage commercial and legal documentation for connections contracts, • Oversee project financial governance and closure routines Key Competencies • Strong written and spoken communication skills, • Ability to deliver high-quality documentation in a commercial environment, • Build and maintain exceptional customer relationships, • Sound decision-making and effective team working Qualifications and Attributes Essential: • HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, • Full UK driving licence Desirable: • Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering, • Project Management qualifications, • Experience in the electricity industry (connections) regulated environment, • Legal and contract law experience, • Project/Programme management experience Visit northernpowergrid.com/careers to find out more about this and other career opportunities.
