Then look no further Shift Team Leader Salary £44,041 - £66,000 per annum Hours 40 hours per week, 12-hour shift system Location & Postcode Gloucester EFW, GL10 3ET As a Shift Team Leader at FCC Environment, you will supervise and provide direction to the shift team on a rotating shift system, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the facility. You will take delegated management responsibility outside normal office hours and act as a Senior Authorised Person, ensuring the correct application of Safety Rules and operational procedures. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week. Our promise to you • Competitive salary - 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays - Pension scheme - On-the-job training and progression - Recognition scheme - Refer a friend - Flexible benefits, including high street savings, cycle to work scheme, Gymflex membership, holiday purchase, and more - Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and the Best Doctors Service via our Wellbeing Platform What will you be doing? • Supervise the shift team, providing clear direction and leadership - Act as Senior Authorised Person for the Energy from Waste Safety Rules, preparing, issuing and cancelling safety documentation - Manage emergencies in line with the sites Emergency Plan, liaising with emergency services and internal stakeholders as required - Ensure the facility operates in full compliance with environmental permits, design criteria and planning conditions - Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping, communicating initiatives effectively - Ensure only compliant waste is processed and deal correctly with any non-conforming materials - Oversee the correct and timely processing of facility inputs and outputs - Produce detailed incident reports, shift logs and operational data - Conduct performance appraisals, coaching, and development of shift team members - Encourage continuous improvement and build operational competency across the team - Take proactive measures to maximise plant availability, efficiency and reliability - Deliver comprehensive shift handovers - Provide shift cover for colleagues when required (sickness, training, holiday) What are we looking for? • Extensive operational experience in power generation (EfW, CCGT, Oil, Coal, Biomass) or as a time served Royal Navy engineer - Strong working knowledge of facility consents, H&S legislation, environmental compliance and safety rules - The ability to remain calm, decisive and consistent in demanding or dynamic environments - Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels - Highly motivated, results-driven and adaptable - Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritise workload - Competent IT skills and ability to work independently or within a team About us We are FCC Environment, one of the UKs leading waste and resource management companies.
