Were looking for a results-driven customer-focused Plant & Tool Hire Manager to lead from the front and keep everything movingfrom the first hire to the final off-hire. About the Role As a Plant & Tool Hire Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the hire depot ensuring that operations run smoothly safely and efficiently. Youll lead a small team oversee stock and fleet readiness and be the go-to expert for customers needing reliable plant and tool hire solutions. This is a hands-on management role ideal for someone with prior experience in the hire industry who thrives in a fast-paced customer-facing environment. Key Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee the full hire process from enquiry to off-hire., • Lead support and develop the depot team to deliver excellent customer service and meet KPIs., • Build and maintain strong relationships with both trade and domestic customers., • Ensure the plant and tool fleet is maintained serviced and ready for hire., • Oversee the safe and legal transport of equipment to and from customer sites., • Monitor stock levels rehire where necessary and liaise with suppliers to maintain availability., • Ensure all operations comply with health and safety standards and company policies., • Support the wider branch team with stock control reporting and audits. What Were Looking For: • Experience in plant/tool hire or construction equipment rental (essential)., • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a small team., • Excellent customer service and communication abilities., • Solid understanding of health and safety compliance., • Familiarity with hire management systems such as Syrinx or Insphire (preferred)., • A proactive hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills., • Full UK driving licence (preferred or required depending on role).
