As a rapidly expanding compliance consultancy, we are seeking a qualified fire safety consultant/ inspector to join the Fire Safety team in a sub-contractor capacity. We are looking for someone who can cope with this dynamic role, whilst adopting a proportionate and common-sense approach to this ever-changing field. The successful applicant will be supported by an experienced fire risk management team, delivering inspections and consultancy on various fire safety issues, primarily (but not exclusively) within the social housing and education sectors. About the roles We are seeking five experienced project engineers across varied regions to work on one of the largest security transformation projects in the UK. The regional splits are as follows: • South West (SW), • South East (SE), • North East & Scotland (NE & S), • East Midlands (EM), • West Midlands & Wales (WM & Wales) Working directly for our client’s senior programme manager, you will oversee and drive the successful mobilisation and delivery of access control, intrusion detection and video surveillance installation projects. You will attend sites distributed nationally and provide a key interface between the internal client project teams, embedded commissioning teams and installation teams. You will act as subject matter expert (SME) on Genetec and provide technical oversight to the programme manager. You will work in conjunction with the physical security analyst (PSA) team to ensure technical specifications and designs are aligned to completed risk assessments. The ideal candidate must excel in multitasking and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. What you will do • Report directly into the clients Senior Security Programme Manager., • Travel nationally within the region, where required, to complete survey, data capture and quality assessment tasks, • Assess and validate submitted designs against the clients project standards., • Assist in co-ordinating works with the various delivery teams including but not limited to IT teams, power teams, fire teams, security service integrators, SOC and senior stakeholders., • Lead participation in the Request for Change (RFC) Change Control process system to support project and handover activities., • Supervise and oversee documentation for the commissioning process and ensure final sign-off., • Manage and maintain the commissioning folders for each project, ensuring accuracy and completeness., • Responsible for ensuring that system projects are completed, from requirements gathering, and system/solutions design, through to deployment within agreed deadlines, within budget, and any potential issues escalated in line with internal policy while maintaining the client’s best interests., • Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary national team., • Prepare and deliver accurate weekly reports., • Lead communications within the group and actively participate in meetings., • Continually ensure that practices, policies, strategy, and services represent the client’s and the Company’s best interests. The Role: As a Principal Safety Case Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will cover all aspects of the business, from business winning to subsequent project delivery. You will be a key member with responsibility for developing the team, both internally and within the customer organisations. You will use your expertise and knowledge to help develop the next generation of Safety Consultants throughout the Client's business portfolio.
