Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (SEN) – Computer Science (BTEC Level 2 & 3) Location: Kensington Contract Type: Long term Start Date: ASAP The Role We are working on behalf of a college to recruit a Computer Science Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students studying BTEC Level 2 and Level 3 Computer Science. The role involves providing targeted support to learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access the curriculum and achieve their academic potential. You will work closely with teaching staff to support students during lessons, practical sessions, and coursework-based learning, with a particular focus on IT systems, programming concepts, and applied computer science. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEN studying BTEC Level 2 & 3 Computer Science Support learners with coursework, assignments, and practical IT tasks Reinforce understanding of key topics such as hardware, software, networking, programming, and data Assist students with organisation, time management, and exam/coursework preparation Adapt learning materials to meet individual learning needs Promote independence, confidence, and engagement in learning Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and support teams The Ideal Candidate Background in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline Experience supporting students with SEN (desirable) Patient, supportive, and able to explain technical concepts clearly Strong communication and interpersonal skills LSA qualification or relevant education/training (desirable but not essential) Why Apply?
