A Teesside-based business is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join its growing team based in Middlesbrough. Having grown rapidly over the past two years, the business is now entering its next phase of development and is looking for a hands-on finance professional to take ownership of the finance function and support wider operational delivery. This is a key appointment within the business, responsible for overseeing day-to-day finance operations while supporting systems, reporting, and business processes across the organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership, bringing structure, accountability, and financial control within a growing SME environment. Key Responsibilities Manage daily bookkeeping, financial administration, and accurate Xero records Raise invoices and manage supplier payments, reconciliations, and expenses Prepare and submit VAT returns Monitor cashflow and produce financial reports Prepare accounts for external accountants Support budgeting and financial planning Provide operational and administrative support across the business Maintain organised digital and physical filing systems Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports Support office operations, procurement, inventory, and stock management Maintain CRM systems and workflows Prepare and proofread proposals, quotes, and tender documents Support compliance documentation and project reporting Coordinate information across internal teams Use SharePoint, Excel, Word, Canva, and CRM systems effectively Support ongoing process and systems improvements Experience with proposals or tender documentation Experience Required Previous experience in finance, accounts, or operations within an SME Strong Xero experience Experience managing bookkeeping through to accountant submission Experience with VAT, reconciliations, invoicing, and cashflow management Qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) TPBN1_UKTJ
