    We're looking for someone who doesn't just want another hospitality job, but wants to help build one of Fulham's most exciting new independent gelaterias. Café Team Leader / Duty Manager Become the Face of La Gelateria della Luna La Gelateria della Luna is a brand-new independent Italian gelateria opening on Fulham Road. Our vision is simple, to bring authentic Italian gelato, speciality coffee and handcrafted desserts to Fulham, whilst creating an experience that customers will want to return to time and time again. We are looking for a mature, experienced hospitality professional to become the face of our gelateria. This role is perfect for someone with previous hospitality management or supervisory experience who enjoys leading a young team, taking ownership of daily operations and treating the business as though it were their own. As the owner, I will be working alongside the team as much as possible. I am looking for someone I can genuinely trust to confidently manage the business during evenings and weekends, ensuring the highest standards are maintained from opening until closing. Key Responsibilities • Lead the team with confidence and professionalism., • Deliver exceptional customer service at every opportunity., • Prepare and serve speciality coffee, authentic Italian gelato, waffles and desserts., • Support, coach and motivate a young team., • Open and close the gelateria independently., • Operate the EPOS system, • Oversee stock levels, deliveries and daily organisation., • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times., • Resolve customer enquiries professionally., • Take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the business. Our Standards At La Gelateria della Luna, cleanliness and organisation are non negotiable. The successful candidate will lead by example and ensure that throughout every shift: • Customer areas remain clean, welcoming and presentable., • Counters, coffee stations and preparation areas are spotless., • Floors are checked and cleaned regularly., • Toilets are inspected, cleaned and restocked throughout the day., • Cleaning schedules are completed correctly., • The café is fully prepared for the following day's service before closing. This is a hands-on leadership role. We are looking for someone who is just as happy making coffee, serving customers and helping with cleaning as they are leading the team. About You You will ideally have: • Previous café, restaurant or hospitality management or supervisory experience., • Excellent customer service and communication skills., • A positive and professional attitude., • Strong leadership skills., • Confidence working independently., • High standards of cleanliness and organisation., • Availability to work evenings and weekends., • A genuine passion for hospitality. Role Purpose The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day warehouse and parcel processing activities within the hub, ensuring operational efficiency, service quality, safety compliance and team performance. The role will lead frontline operational teams, monitor performance against KPIs and support the Hub Manager in delivering a safe, productive and customer-focused operation. Key Responsibilities Operational Management • Supervise daily hub operations, including inbound, sorting, outbound and parcel handling activities., • Ensure parcels are processed accurately and within operational service level targets., • Monitor workflow and allocate resources to meet operational demand., • Support volume planning during peak and off-peak periods., • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions. Team Management • Lead, motivate and support Team Leaders and operational employees., • Manage attendance, punctuality and workforce productivity., • Conduct team briefings and communicate operational priorities., • Provide coaching and on-the-job training to employees., • Support recruitment, onboarding and performance management activities. Performance & KPI Management • Monitor operational KPIs including:, • Throughput, • Productivity, • Scan Compliance, • Sort Accuracy, • Service Performance, • Damaged Parcels, • Exception Volumes, • Health & Safety Metrics, • Investigate performance issues and implement improvement plans., • Produce operational reports and performance updates. Quality & Compliance • Ensure compliance with all company operational procedures., • Promote and maintain a strong Health & Safety culture., • Support accident investigations and corrective actions., • Ensure operational audits and compliance checks are completed., • Monitor parcel exception handling and quality standards. Stakeholder Collaboration • Work closely with Transport, Customer Service, Quality and Administration teams., • Support communication between operational departments., • Escalate operational risks and service issues where necessary. Candidate Requirements Essential • Previous experience in logistics, parcel, warehouse or distribution operations., • Experience supervising operational teams in a fast-paced environment., • Strong leadership and people management skills., • Good problem-solving and decision-making ability., • Experience managing operational KPIs., • Good communication and organisational skills., • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Desirable • Experience within parcel delivery, courier or express logistics operations., • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and handheld scanning devices., • Health & Safety awareness within warehouse operations., • Experience leading shift operations within a distribution centre.
