Audience Development Coordinator \n\n • Hourly Rate: £15.56 PAYE\n, • Location: Central Sheffield\n, • Job Type: Hybrid (office and home working)\n\n Join Sheffield Libraries as an Audience Development Coordinator and play a key role in bringing a vibrant programme of events and activities to life. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with the community through a variety of events, from author talks to large-scale activities like Comic Fest and the Summer Reading Challenge. \n Day-to-day of the role: \n\n • Plan and coordinate a diverse range of events across Sheffield's libraries.\n, • Develop creative ideas for future events and activities.\n, • Support the execution of events such as author talks, history talks, re-enactments, Comic Fest, and the Summer Reading Challenge.\n, • Organise the upcoming Book Awards.\n, • Handle event administration and complete relevant forms.\n, • Coordinate payments for external contributors and suppliers.\n, • Promote library events through social media and create newsletters to showcase upcoming activities.\n, • Attend events to ensure smooth operation, meet and greet the public, authors, speakers, and other guests.\n, • Introduce authors and speakers at events as required.\n, • Conduct outreach and networking to develop relationships with individuals, groups, and organisations.\n, • Collaborate closely with colleagues and different teams across the library service.\n\n Required Skills & Qualifications: \n\n • Friendly, enthusiastic, and approachable demeanor.\n, • Creative mindset with a knack for suggesting innovative ideas.\n, • Highly organised with strong coordination skills.\n, • Confident in communicating with a diverse range of people.\n, • Experienced in delivering excellent customer service.\n, • Skilled in networking and building new relationships.\n, • Comfortable supporting or hosting public events.\n, • Proficient in using social media and creating promotional content.\n, • Able to balance creative initiatives with established processes and procedures.\n, • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.\n, • Experience in events, community engagement, audience development, or related fields is advantageous.\n\n Benefits: \n\n • Flexible hybrid working arrangement, with approximately three office days per week.\n, • Opportunity to work on engaging and diverse events.\n, • Chance to meet a wide variety of people and make a significant impact in the community.\n, • Competitive hourly rate and time off in lieu (TOIL) for occasional evening or weekend work.\n, • Saturday overtime paid at time and a half.\n\n How to apply: \n If you're an organised, creative, and confident communicator who enjoys events and engaging with people, apply today to become part of Sheffield Libraries.
