Evotech are seeking a site based Engineer to join our busy commercial building maintenance team. The role involves undertaking planned and reactive maintenance at a retail and leisure indoor visitor attraction, based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Your job: You will be part of our client facing on-site maintenance team and will assist in delivering PPM and reactive maintenance work. This includes fault finding, repair, and installation of electrical services, as well as general maintenance tasks. The requirements of the role will include the following: - Be proactive, use your initiative, and take ownership of situations. - Take on-site responsibility for the day-to-day running of the contract. - Manage agreed KPIs and SLAs in conjunction with the Contract Manager. - Arrange and manage specialist sub-contractor visits. - Manage all reports, site logbooks, and the CAFM system, working closely with the Contract Manager. - Ensure site Health and Safety requirements are met, in coordination with the Contract Manager. - Keep all paperwork up to date and audit-ready. - Attend client meetings when required. - Undertake daily and weekly checks to ensure smooth site operation, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. - Follow the agreed PPM schedule, working as part of a team to deliver maintenance checks safely, on time, and within budget. - Respond to emergency requests to minimize disruption to client operations whenever practical. - Provide prompt and effective responses to emergencies, diagnosing faults and taking action to prevent deterioration in environmental conditions. - Use all appropriate communication channels to keep both the client and our company informed of relevant information. - Recognise the importance of energy management and identify energy-saving opportunities that benefit the customer. - Liaise with specialist sub-contractors and engineers in other disciplines to minimize disruption to the building or its occupants. - Efficiently deliver PPM and reactive maintenance, including fault finding, repair, and installation of electrical services. - Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with Health & Safety requirements. - Work as part of the wider site maintenance team, demonstrating a professional and courteous manner to the client and their customers, assisting with any queries they may have. Your remuneration The role is full time, Mon Fri, working 40 hours per week In return for your expertise and hard work youll receive: Starting salary £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience 25 days holiday (pro rata), plus bank holidays per year Company sick pay scheme Life insurance providing cover of 3 times your annual salary Employee wellbeing scheme Company pension plan Training & development opportunities About you Having succeeded in a similar role, youll have relevant professional qualifications and youll be proactive, self-motivated, work equally well independently and as part of the wider team, and be able to build and maintain relationships across the organisation and with our customers. Essential Qualifications and Experience: Hold a City and Guilds electrical qualification (or equivalent) level 2 or above Knowledge of 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations HVAC experience would be an advantage Strong technical knowledge as the ability to multitask is required Ability to plan and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative Ability to work from instruction and make decisions as needed with minimal supervision. Friendly and approachable with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
