Working within the Housing Customer and Building Service, you will be responsible for a comprehensive range of housing investment workstreams. You will focus on a specific high-priority area of the investment programme (e.g., Aids & Adaptations, Planned Programmes, or Energy Efficiency), but will also be required to undertake works in other investment areas as directed by the Team Leader. \n Your core duties will involve coordinating and delivering projects related to areas such as Aids and Adaptations (Scheme of Assistance), Major Refurbishments, Planned Programmes, Compliance Works, and Home Energy Efficiency Programmes (e.g., HEEPS:ABS, ECO). \n You will play a pivotal role in the programming, coordination, and monitoring of planned construction and survey projects, which requires extensive tenant and owner consultation. You will also be actively involved in the identification, bidding for, and management of financial resources for various capital and grant-funded projects, carrying significant budget responsibility for assigned schemes. \n The post requires providing professional and technical advice on improvement measures, carrying out technical inspections and surveys, and proactively dealing with complaints and resolving unanticipated site problems. \n This permanent role represents an exciting and challenging opportunity for a highly motivated individual. The Asset Officer role will assist the Asset Manager / Senior Asset Officer in the delivery of high quality maintenance services to all customers of the Association. This will include ensuring that void properties are ready for let quickly and efficiently and providing technical assistance to the In-House Maintenance Team and scheduling cyclical works. About You You are an organised and knowledgeable construction professional with a solid educational background and a commitment to continuous professional development. The successful candidate will have an HNC (or equivalent) in a construction-related discipline or a relevant technical qualification and bring a practical, solution-focused approach to your work. The role requires a strong understanding of the building industry, including construction methods and materials, and proven experience working within a contracting environment. You are confident using and analysing stock condition survey data to support informed decision-making and service planning. Highly IT-literate, you are comfortable working with Microsoft Office systems, particularly Excel, and can interpret complex data and present it clearly to a range of audiences. A good understanding of procurement legislation, cost control, and best practice, ensuring value for money and compliance at all times is required for this post. You understand the legal and statutory requirements relevant to the housing sector and have a demonstrable track record of delivering high-quality services while driving continuous improvement. With a full UK driving licence, you are able to travel as required to meet the demands of the role.
