Senior Building Control Surveyor (Class 2E Registered) Location: Blackpool (Hybrid – Remote Working with Site Visits & Occasional Office Attendance) Contract: Ongoing Temporary Contract Hours: Full-Time, 37 Hours per Week Pay Rate: £23.69 per hour (PAYE/Umbrella options available) Seven Resourcing is currently recruiting for a highly skilled Senior Building Control Surveyor to join a forward-thinking local authority team in Blackpool. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional within building control, construction, or surveying to deliver a critical regulatory service ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and safety standards. This role offers a flexible hybrid working model, combining remote working with site inspections and occasional office attendance, making it ideal for experienced surveyors seeking autonomy and variety. Key Responsibilities Building Control & Compliance • Undertake plan assessments and site inspections to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and the Building Act 1984, • Manage a portfolio of development projects, including new builds, regularisations, and reversion applications, • Manage a caseload within your level of competence, including enforcement actions where required, • Assess dangerous structures and implement immediate remedial measures, • Support and supervise junior surveyors, trainees, and assistants where appropriate, • Provide guidance within the Building Control team framework, • Liaise with external stakeholders including Fire Services, Police, contractors, and professional consultants, • Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure effective service delivery To be considered for this Senior Building Control Surveyor Job in Blackpool, you must have: • Registration with the Building Safety Regulator (minimum Class 2E – Assessment & Inspection), • Full membership with a recognised professional body such as CABE, RICS, or CIOB, • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Building Control or a related field, • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Act 1984, and construction standards, • Strong technical knowledge of construction and regulatory compliance, • Ability to manage multiple projects and caseloads independently, • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, • High attention to detail and report-writing abilities, • Full UK Driving Licence At Seven Resourcing, we go beyond recruitment.
