The Real Estate Disputes department provides expert legal advice in high-value, high-profile, and complex property litigation matters, alongside the usual traditional real estate disputes. With specialisms in the Building Safety Act, the living sector and development disputes, the team advises on a variety of contentious property matters including dilapidations, lease renewals, rent review, professional negligence and general property management work. With 3 of the 7 partners located within the London office, alongside a strong group of experienced solicitors, all who offer an extensive depth of knowledge. You will be working collaboratively with the wider Real Estate team, this role provides a strong platform to develop client relationships, further enhance the team’s reputation and grow your own professional profile. The Role Joining the firm’s highly regarded Real Estate Disputes team, you will advise on a varied caseload including dilapidations, lease renewals, rent review, professional negligence and general property management work. With a client-base spanning an impressive range of institutional landlords, well known-retailers, leading investors, developers and infrastructure companies. More specifically, your work will involve advising on a full range of landlord and tenant matters including lease renewals (contested and uncontested), dilapidation claims, service of break notices, forfeiture and possession actions. You’ll gain exposure to building safety, rights of light, joint ventures and new and upcoming areas in the sector which will, in turn, provide further opportunities to grow and develop your experience. As an Associate, you will become a key member of this high-performing, cohesive and busy team. You will contribute to mentoring trainee solicitors and paralegals, whilst also receive support and guidance from the senior members of the team during more challenging matters, with the progression route of completing task independently thereafter. There is a genuine focus on continuous development. Requirements • Be a qualified solicitor with 2–5 years’ PQE and Real Estate Disputes experience, including core landlord and tenant matters., • Demonstrate a strong understanding of contentious property work, with experience advising on matters such as lease renewals, dilapidations, rent review, break notices, forfeiture and possession., • Be comfortable managing complex matters collaboratively, working with colleagues across practice areas in the UK and internationally to deliver high-quality advice., • Show enthusiasm for business development, with the ability to build client relationships and support the continued growth of the practice.
