Senior / Associate Building Surveyor Orpington / Hybrid 35 hours per week Turner Property Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior / Associate Building Surveyor to join a multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy. The role In this key position, you will support the delivery of services within the Building Surveying team while leading a range of projects from inception to completion. You will play an active role in team management, mentoring junior colleagues, and ensuring exceptional standards in project delivery and client care. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background, commercial awareness, and a passion for shaping the built environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals across multiple disciplines and benefit from a clear path for career progression. Responsibilities • Lead and manage a variety of building surveying projects, including complex schemes, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to the required standards, • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert advice and identifying new business opportunities, • Provide guidance on building surveys, condition reports, party wall matters, defects and remedial works, • Advise clients on pre-contract matters, procurement, project setup and processes, • Prepare detailed reports, specifications, schedules, drawings and other contract documentation, • Conduct site reviews to identify and manage potential risks, including health and safety, legal and environmental considerations Qualifications • Degree in a related subject, • MRICS, • Strong understanding of building construction and property law, including Party Wall Act 1996, • Knowledge of construction risks, costs and economics, • Experience of pre-contract matters and full project lifecycle, • Detailed working knowledge of common building contracts, • Excellent numerical, verbal and written communication skills, including report writing, • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making ability, • Mentoring skills to support junior staff development This consultancy places people at the heart of their business and invests in development at every stage of a career.
