Join our team at Keolis Amey Metrolink (KAM) the largest light rail network in the UK! We are recruiting for a Stores Assistant who will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient operation of Keolis Amey Metrolinks inventory and stores processes. You will be responsible for receiving storing and issuing goods maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring that materials are readily available to meet the operational needs of the business. No day will be the same you will play an integral role working in a fast-paced environment with third party suppliers Engineering team and other internal departments. The Stores Assistant contributes to a safe organised and well-maintained storage environment supporting overall productivity and service delivery keeping our iconic Trams flowing on the network and our customers moving around Greater Manchester. Key accountabilities will include: Incoming Deliveries • Check incoming goods for accuracy quality and damage., • Assist in the loading and unloading of deliveries either mechanically (forklift/pallet truck) or manually, • Store items in designated locations in an organised and accessible manner., • Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management system., • Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies., • Assist with stocktakes and cycle counts., • Monitor & Report to Manager any issues with Min/Max stock levels., • Prepare and issue materials or products to internal departments following the booking out process., • To be involved in the shipping of goods both UK and Overseas using correct documentation, • Update and maintain accurate inventory database on KAMs computerised Warehouse Management System., • Collaborate with procurement and other departments to ensure smooth operations. What youll bring: • Good level of numeracy and literacy skills to be able to carry out stock counting and complete written documentation, • Experience in Supply/Stores environment, • Experience in an operational Engineering transport or maintenance environment, • Understanding of material/ supply requirements, • Good understanding of supply chain management understanding, • Reasonable knowledgeof IT and Proficient in Microsoft applications skills specifically Excel word & Outlook, • Good understanding of inventory management systems experience, • Hold a UK Driving Licence, • Fork Lift Truck - full training will be provided, • Good communication to effectively engage with suppliers and internal departments., • Motivate peers team members to deliver the best service., • Materials management experience in a fast-paced stores environment, • Team orientated with the ability to work on own initiative, • Attention to detail deliveries, • Organisational skills keeping stock rotating, • Problem solving - you can adapt to your situation to get the best results, • A starting salary of 30417, • Full time, • Free Tram Travel for all our colleagues plus a sponsored pass for an immediate family member, • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, • Access to Amazing Discounts at major retailers including Asda Currys PC World John Lewis and many more., • Family Friendly Policies including enhanced maternity and paternity pay., • Wellbeing Support including a free counselling health checks and Employee Assistance Programme.
