We’re looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join a friendly, collaborative finance team and play a key role in keeping the firm’s cashflow running smoothly. If you enjoy building relationships, solving problems and keeping financial records in great shape, this could be a brilliant next step. The role You’ll manage your own portfolio of clients, making sure invoices are paid on time and any issues are resolved quickly and professionally. You’ll work closely with partners, managers and colleagues across the business, and you’ll be trusted to keep the fee ledger accurate and up to date. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved in everything from chasing overdue payments to reconciling receipts and preparing KPI information for the team. What you’ll be doing • Chasing outstanding debts in line with firm policy, • Sending statements and making outbound calls to clients, • Handling payment queries and occasionally taking card payments, • Preparing and supporting legal letters when needed, • Updating daily receipts and maintaining accurate fee ledger records, • Reviewing aged debt reports and taking action on overdue balances, • Meeting with partners to resolve late-payment issues, • Preparing productivity KPIs for the credit control team, • Reconciling receipts, cash books and bank statements, • Several years’ experience in credit control, • Strong understanding of credit control processes and KPIs, • Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach, • Comfortable working with partners, managers and external clients, • High attention to detail and a methodical, organised way of working, • Experience with computerised fee ledgers (Star PDM is a bonus), • Good working knowledge of MS Office, • A credit control qualification, • Experience in a professional services environment
