This is a vital role within a busy school environment, ensuring all food and non-food supplies are received, stored, and distributed to the highest standards. The RoleAs Head of Stores, you will take ownership of all goods-in, storage, and stock control processes. Working closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team, you will ensure stock is managed effectively, compliance standards are met, and operations run seamlessly. A full UK driving license is required for this role. Key Responsibilities Stock & Deliveries • Receive and check all deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes, • Ensure all goods meet required standards for quality, quantity, and temperature, • Report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues promptly, • Maintain clean, tidy, and well-organised storage areas (dry stores, fridges, and freezers), • Ensure accurate labelling, dating, and stock rotation, • Ensure all orders are placed in line with unit requirements, • Support the Head Chef with weekly stocktakes and inventory checks, • Ensure weekly stocktakes are completed accurately and on time, • Minimise waste through effective stock management and rotation, • Follow all food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety regulations, • Ensure safe manual handling of all deliveries and stock, • Work closely with chefs and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service, • Support the stores team to ensure efficient goods-in and delivery processes, • Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or kitchen environment preferred, • Basic understanding of food hygiene and storage practices, • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail, • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, • Good communication and teamwork skills, • Reliable and punctual, • Proactive, hands-on approach, • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn About Us As part of Compass you'll help to feed people, fuel progress and forge connections in around 6,000 venues.
