The registration is in place, the young people are settled, the team are warm and organised, and the Deputy knows every inch of the setting. You’re not arriving to fix the basics. You’re here to lead, shape and develop. This provider keeps things thoughtful. Learning disabilities, autism, communication needs, sensory support and behaviours linked to anxiety are responded to with patience, not pressure. They build homes that feel welcoming, structured and predictable so children feel safe to try, grow and communicate in the ways that work for them. The RI is local and genuinely available. You’ll have someone who enjoys open conversation, supports decision making and wants you to have a real presence in the home. And there’s space to progress. More LD homes are planned in the region, so if you’re thinking longer term, there’s a path beyond a single service. What you’ll be doing • Leading the home and maintaining Ofsted registration, • Embedding LD practice into daily life; communication, sensory routines and independence, • Working closely with your Deputy to guide, support and upskill the team, • Holding responsibility for care plans, behaviour support, reviews and meaningful outcomes for children, • Taking the lead on safeguarding and partnership work with education, health and therapy teams, • Keeping quality strong through audits, reflective conversations and everyday practice that holds its shape, • Handling admissions and matching with careful planning so the home remains safe and nurturing, • Helping shape future LD provision as the organisation grows What you’ll bring • Registered Manager experience or Deputy Manager background with strong LD knowledge, • Experience supporting children or young people with LD and autism, • Level 5 in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare or working towards it, • Confident understanding of Ofsted expectations, Quality Standards and LD-focused practice, • Leadership that balances warmth, clarity and high expectations, • UK driving licence Pay, benefits and progression • £50,000 to £60,000 depending on experience, • Bonus linked to outcomes, • Full team already recruited including a capable Deputy, • Local RI who is involved and supportive, • Private medical cover and wellbeing support, • Funded CPD and meaningful leadership development, • Progression into wider LD leadership as the service portfolio grows Why this role stands out Everything you need to start well is already in place. A small, relationship-led home where communication is personalised, sensory needs are respected and children are supported to gain confidence and autonomy at their pace. The team are established, the young people are settled and the environment is built for progress rather than push.
