WB Power Services is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to lead our commercial function at our Eastwood office. This is a pivotal role within the business, acting as the main point of contact for all commercial matters and providing direct support to the board of directors. As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and developing our commercial team, ensuring robust contract management, accurate cost control, and the delivery of strong commercial outcomes across all projects. You will split your time between leading the team at head office and attending site visits to support projects on the ground, ensuring a hands-on, visible presence across the business. This is a senior appointment, and we are seeking someone with a strong Quantity Surveying background (ideally 15+ years of experience) who can bring commercial expertise, leadership, and a strategic mindset. While you may not have spent many years as a Commercial Manager, your track record as a senior QS will demonstrate that you are ready to step into this role with confidence. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the commercial team, providing direction, mentoring, and support to ensure consistent performance., • Act as the key commercial point of contact for the directors, delivering accurate reports and strategic advice., • Manage all pre- and post-contract commercial activities, including tendering, valuations, variations, and final accounts., • Oversee cost control, forecasting, and cash flow management across all projects., • Conduct regular site visits to review progress, support project teams, and maintain strong client relationships., • Lead on contract negotiations, risk management, and dispute resolution where required., • Ensure compliance with WB Power Services Ltd policies, ISO standards, and legal/regulatory requirements., • Drive continuous improvement in commercial practices and processes. Key Requirements: • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline., • RICS membership (essential)., • At least 15 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, with demonstrable progression to senior roles., • Previous experience in commercial management (or readiness to step up) within construction, engineering, or power generation projects., • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams., • Proven ability in cost control, contract negotiation, and financial reporting., • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills., • Willingness to balance office-based work with regular site visits. Works / Operations Manager Rayden Engineering Ltd is a Mechanical & Civil Engineering Company, based in the East Midlands of England; and specialising in the pre-fabrication, welding and installation of pipework systems of a wide variety of alloys. We are also involved in the installation of: Cross-country Pipelines and Pipeline Diversions (up to 42 ) and Above Ground Installations (AGIs). Our continued success and growth over the past number of years now necessitates the appointment of a Works / Operation Manager. Role: Based at our Head Office facility, the works manager will be responsible for managing all operations within the fabrication side of the business, both structural steel and pipework. You will also assist in the pre-construction and estimating phases of projects. You will work closely with the management team to maintain and develop business relationships with clients, designers and sub-contractors. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be: Managing a busy fabrication facility. Ensuring that each project meets its targets in terms of quality and customer satisfaction. Demonstrate management experience in both Steel and Pipe Fabrication Organising and taking a leading role with the fabrication projects; plan, allocate and supervise the workforce to execute works in accordance with the project programmes. Required to manage and monitor the works to ensure compliance with our clients specifications. Required to liaise with both our own and our clients operation staff to ensure the works are undertaken to everyones satisfaction. Required to maintain records / diaries and actively support the resolution of all fabrication issues. Implement our positive health, safety & environmental regime at all times, deliver HS&E toolbox talks in collaboration with our HS&E Manager. Required to build positive and productive working relationships with our clients; delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations. Required to check quality, health and safety standards and correct where required. Motivate team members to achieve predetermined goals and targets. Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained at our works facility Computer literate and a strong communicator both written and verbally With a background in engineering, and experience in works management, you will also have the following skills and experience: Minimum of a HNC / HND in mechanical engineering or equivalent and at least five years' experience of working in an engineering role. Experience of working to Quality Management Systems ISO 9001. Knowledge & experience of working to ISO 3834 and BS EN 1090 management systems. Leadership, management, and ability to organise effectively with good time management skills. A working knowledge of project management tools such as planning using Microsoft project would be an advantage . A successful track record of delivering projects on time and to budget, whilst meeting the customer's technical expectations. Ability to read and review piping, structural and civil drawings. Experience in project engineering and the management of design Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Ability to work effectively in a deadline-oriented and fast-paced team environment, and also to provide strong leadership. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Proven track record in completing risk assessments and writing method statements Ability to carry out site surveys, obtain accurate measurements and produce drawings Problem solving Good commercial awareness. Production of detailed daily fabrication diaries. The willingness and ability to 'roll up their sleeves', work well amongst others, and knowledgeably deliver contractually and commercially.
