Job DescriptionOverview Registered Nurse – PACU is a travel nursing assignment in Rochester, NY, starting 04/20/2026 for Weeks, with a pay range of $2,237–$2,301 per week and no guaranteed hours. Shift is 4x10-hour evenings. The role is in a short-term acute care teaching hospital setting with a 27-bed PACU unit and a total staffed bed capacity of 471. This position requires NY RN licensure in hand to submit and EPIC charting experience, along with active certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS. Key Highlights • Weekly pay: $2,237–$2,301 per week, • Guaranteed hours: none, • Contract duration: Weeks, • Shift: 4x10-hour evenings, • Start date: 04/20/2026, • Facility/work setting: Short-term acute care teaching hospital with a 27-bed PACU unit, • Orientation and pre-start modules: 16 hours (with facility-billed module time up to 10 hours total) Responsibilities • Provide PACU care (Phase I and Phase II) for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including airway assessment and management, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and basic ventilator/ventilated-patient care, • Monitor patients post-anesthesia, manage pain control (including PCA and analgesia), administer approved therapies, and discharge patients with appropriate instructions, • Perform phlebotomy and IV start/maintenance as part of mandatory competencies; support blood product administration as needed, • Interpret basic labs and ABGs; monitor EKG/12-lead; collaborate with IV team, respiratory, PT, radiology, social work, pharmacy, rapid response, transport, and unit secretary to support patient care, • Assist with perioperative procedures across multiple specialties (orthopedics, spine, general surgery, neuro/spine, vascular, ENT, Gyn, Urology, plastics, robotics) and participate in conscious sedation monitoring and related procedures, • Float to other units as needed and maintain patient safety and discharge readiness with clear documentation in Epic Requirements • Active New York RN license in hand to submit, • Certification: ACLS, BLS, PALS, • Experience: Minimum 1 year RN experience; accepts first-time travelers, • Required competencies: Phlebotomy and IV start/maintenance, • EPIC experience required, • Unit specifics: PACU Phase I & II care; pediatric to geriatric patient populations; patient ratios approximately 3:1 (days and nights), • Pre-approved time off: One request allowed, • Must be able to float to other units as needed, • Not eligible for locals within 75 miles of the facility; travel assignment only Benefits and Support • Structured orientation and required pre-start modules with scheduling and support from the account team, • Epic charting system on-site support and onboarding, • Ongoing assignment assistance from a dedicated account manager, • Scheduling support and travel coordination throughout the assignment, • Clear return-to-work policies and documentation guidance Find more opportunities If you’re interested in other nursing opportunities, you can view additional openings at the Hiring Organization URL: PAY DISCLAIMER Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
