Job Description About Ruxlo LinkedIn is your professional network. Facebook and Instagram are your social networks. Ruxlo is your home's network. Your home. Your neighborhood. Your town. Ruxlo benefits everyone involved in real estate. Builders, architects, contractors and realtors do work that is quickly forgotten. A lawn sign stays up for a month or two, and after that no one knows who did the work. We're replacing that with one durable digital record attached to the parcel itself. Work is recorded by the professional who did it and confirmed by the owner who paid for it. When the house sells, the record stays. Think Carfax for homes. Around the property is your neighborhood, where you can comfortably connect and communicate with neighbors through the Ruxlo app, see other property profiles and ask about the contractors your neighbors used. Further out is your town, where you choose the notifications you want, such as recycling, bulk waste pickup, farmers markets or any other event the town sponsors. Underneath all of it, is our database of 150 million properties, users can leverage AI natural language search to get the information they are looking for quickly. We're backed by an experienced SaaS founder and CEO who bootstrapped and exited a GovTech SaaS company in early 2026. We've assembled a fantastic team and have a unique opportunity to help define a category at the intersection of AI, data and real estate, the largest asset class in the country. The Role We're hiring our first Controller. You'll report to Michael Bonner, our CEO, and own the books for two businesses under common ownership: Ruxlo, an early-stage SaaS company, and Arnhem Inc., an established food ingredient business with inventory, customers and vendors. Each keeps its own books on an accrual basis, and you are responsible for both. Day-to-day bookkeeping for Ruxlo is currently handled by Pilot, our outsourced bookkeeping firm, and you'll own that relationship: directing their work, reviewing what they produce and holding them to a high standard. Beyond Pilot, there is no in-house accounting team, so you'll step in hands-on whenever the work needs it. Some of the books you take over need cleanup before they can be trusted, and that work comes first. The close cadence, controls and reporting structure are largely still to be built, and you'll build them. The seat owns the accuracy of the books and the processes behind them. It does not own fundraising or financial strategy, which sit with the founder and outside advisors, though your numbers are what both rely on. We measure success by whether the numbers can be trusted, not by volume of activity. The Controller who succeeds here closes every entity on a predictable schedule, keeps each set of books standing on its own, gets filings out on time, and hands a lender, investor or buyer financials that hold up on the first pass. What's hard: two sets of books, one person, and books that need repair before they can be trusted. If that sounds like the appeal rather than the warning, we should talk. What You'll Own Ruxlo LLC • Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close: reconciliations, accruals, close checklists, and accrual-basis GAAP statements on a predictable schedule., • Manage the relationship with Pilot, our outsourced bookkeeping firm: set expectations and deadlines, review and approve their work at each close, and fix recurring issues at the source., • Calculate and report the SaaS KPIs leadership runs the business on, including MRR and ARR, churn, net revenue retention, customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, gross margin, burn and runway, with definitions that stay consistent from month to month., • Own subscription revenue recognition and deferred revenue under ASC 606, and keep historical statements and schedules that hold up when investors run diligence., • Own payroll accounting, benefits accruals and equity compensation records with HR and our PEO, including multi-state payroll tax., • Design and run controls suited to a small team, including payment approval, vendor-change verification and separation of duties, and tighten them as the company grows., • Manage cash and forecasting., • Plan our systems: QuickBooks Online today, and a decision on when it stops being enough.
