Job Description Our client is a non-profit organization. They seek a temp to perm Family Advocate to join their Manhattan, NY office. Responsibilities Conduct outreach to parents, children, and other community members to encourage visits to the Family Enrichment Center (FEC) • Connect parents, children, and community members with local resources, services, and support networks, • Apply Appreciative Inquiry and other strength-based tools to engage community members in co-designing offerings, • Develop monthly calendars, website content, and other outreach materials to promote and document programs, • Expand awareness of the program among the general public and the local community, • Welcome and interact with visitors, including new and current participants, partners, and other stakeholders, • Demonstrate professionalism and inclusiveness, foster a safe environment for career development, and motivate clients toward full-time employment Requirements • Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of experience OR, • HS diploma and 5+ years of experience in similar community programs, • Knowledge of and/or lived experience in the Morningside/Hamilton Heights area preferred, • Experience caring for children (as a parent, guardian, relative, neighbor, or babysitter), • Outstanding people/interpersonal skills, • Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed, • Outreach and canvassing skills/experience preferred, • Knowledge of Canva and social media management tools is a plus, • Experience and/or passion for serving individuals from disadvantaged and underserved populations, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint preferred, • Knowledge of Canva and social media management tools is a plus JobID: 47717 Company DescriptionAbacus Group is an award-winning executive search firm specializing in the permanent, temporary, and temp-to-perm placement of Accounting & Finance, Public Accounting, Administrative Support, Compliance, Human Resources, Marketing & Communications, and Information Technology professionals across all industries.
