Job DescriptionLHH is assisting our client in Rockland County, NY in their search for a temp to perm Senior Accountant Role Overview A Senior Accountant is sought to support both corporate and property-level accounting operations within a dynamic real estate investment environment. This position works closely with the Controller and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain organized records, and manage day-to-day accounting activities across multiple entities. This role is well-suited for a detail-oriented professional who can balance multiple priorities, collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners, and operate in a fast-paced setting. Core Responsibilities Accounting & Reporting • Manage and record financial transactions at the partnership level, ensuring accuracy and completeness., • Prepare monthly financial statements and support consistent reporting practices across entities., • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts, including cash, debt, escrow, insurance, taxes, receivables, payables, and intercompany balances., • Oversee accounts payable processing, ensuring proper documentation and coding of transactions., • Perform regular bank reconciliations and track daily cash positions across multiple accounts., • Import and validate third-party financial data into accounting systems, ensuring accurate account mapping., • Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation., • Support investor-related activities, including distributions, capital tracking, and loan activity., • Interpret and apply partnership structures, including distribution waterfalls and return thresholds., • Review loan agreements and ensure compliance with applicable financial provisions., • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners on loan-related accounting and reporting. Construction & Project Accounting, • Prepare construction management fee invoices and monitor collections., • Maintain accurate and accessible records for project-related financial documentation. Cash Flow Management, • Monitor account activity, including rent sweep accounts, to ensure timely funding of obligations such as debt service., • Assist with fund transfers between related entities., • Prepare and distribute periodic cash reports for internal stakeholders. Intercompany Accounting, • Track and reconcile intercompany transactions, ensuring timely and accurate settlement of balances., • Collaborate with third-party accounting partners to maintain consistency in financial records. Tax & Compliance Support, • Maintain documentation to support property tax filings and other compliance requirements., • Coordinate with external tax advisors to facilitate timely and accurate filings. Additional Responsibilities, • Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed., • Take on additional duties assigned by finance or asset management leadership. Qualifications & Experience, • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field., • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate, property management, or investment environments., • Familiarity with both corporate and property-level accounting., • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies., • Proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel., • Effective communication and organizational skills., • Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders., • Proven ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism Pay Range: $50/hr-$56/hr Benefits Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
