Job DescriptionArea: Ridgewood Center Class: CNA Shift: 1 Start: 07:00:00 End: 15:30:00 DEPARTMENT: Nursing REPORTS TO: Charge Nurse/Supervisor/Nursing Administration GRADE: 9 FLSA: Non-exempt POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Center Nurse Executive/Infection Preventionist/Designee, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) delivers efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes and patient/family satisfaction. He/she will function within the standards of practice as accorded by his/her Certification. The CNA performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services essential to caring for personal needs and comfort of patients. The Certified Nursing Assistant may also be responsible for specimen collection for POC testing, where scope of practice, as well as state and federal regulations permit. RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: 2. Makes both occupied and unoccupied beds;, 5. Notifies licensed nurse if patient identification is missing;, 6. Participates in the care planning process and implements care according to care plan;, 7. Perform skin treatments, as permitted by state regulation;, 12. Maintain infection prevention and control precautions practices according to policy., 13. Participates in orientation of new nursing assistants;, 15. Collects and bags soiled linen and delivers to dirty linen area;, 17. Cleans patient equipment as assigned;, 19. Assists with patient discharge as requested, 20. Assists with the orientation of newly hired CNAs;, 21. Promotes a culture of safety to ensure healthy practice and living environment;, 24. Participates in quality improvement activities as requested;, 27. Performs other duties as requested. SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Successful completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant program., 2. A minimum of a high school education or high school equivalency diploma is preferred., 5. Basic knowledge of computer use or willingness to learn., 8. Participates in required orientation and training programs., 10. Cooperates with monitoring and audit functions and investigations., 11. Participates, as requested, in quality assurance and process improvement activities. CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT SPECIMEN COLLECTOR (In States Where Permitted) RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: 2. Maintain specimen integrity by following appropriate infection control practices., 4. Ensure appropriate labeling of specimens collected., 5. Complete required documentation timely and accurately., 6. Successful completion of Point-of-Care testing specimen collection education and training, 7. Job Description KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment service issues, • Perform repairs, installations and preventive maintenance, • Offer technical support to customers via phone, email, or in-person service calls, • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, • Provide basic training and maintenance tips to customers and customer's staff, • Organize and manage daily work assignments, • Respond promptly to customer requests, • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports following installations and service calls, • Overnight travel may be required, • Participate in on-going product training, • Able to lift 75lbs, • Must have excellent communication skills EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., photonics, technology) or equivalent experience., • Relevant experience in field service, technical support, or equipment maintenance., • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the assigned territory.
