Job Description The Procurement Specialist primary focus is on purchasing the best quality equipment products and services at best total cost of ownership prices based on business needs. We are seeking someone with excellent negotiation skills, experience in vegetation management, and a solid understanding of procurement for direct materials. Supports and coordinate multi-component office project purchases. Supports the Director of Supply Chain and PMO as needed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and delivery performance, • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure consistent supply and favorable terms, • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements to maximize value for the organization, • Apply strong excel skills to analyze, create reports, and assist with decision-making., • Manage procurement activities for direct materials, • Create and issue purchase orders according to company policies and procedures, • Monitor order status to ensure timely delivery of goods and services, • Manage requisitions from internal departments, ensuring specifications, quantity, and quality are met, • Track and analyze procurement costs to identify savings opportunities, • Identify and lead cost-saving projects and productivity improvements, • Assist in budgeting and forecasting for procurement-related expenses, • Use JD-Edwards for procurement and inventory management., • Familiar with Power BI, creating visualizations, and analyzing data., • Foster collaboration with diverse teams and colleagues across various departments and geographical locations to ensure project goals are met., • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including delays, shortages, and vendor non-compliance, • Manages and maintain parts and pricing information in JD Edwards., • Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in procurement records and documentation., • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to grow within the organization, • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to grow within the organization., • Identifies and maintains relationships with Diverse Spend vendors, according to enterprise procurement needs and budgets, to optimize enterprise-wide Diverse spend., • Performs critical coordinating and logistics role in supporting storm personnel with lodging and suppliers., • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field., • 2-3 years of proven experience as a buyer / procurement sourcing specialist or in a similar procurement role within vegetation management, • Strong excel skills, with the ability to analyze data and generate reports, • Experience with JD Edwards and other procurement and inventory management systems, • Familiar with Power BI, creating visualizations, and analyzing data, • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships, • Deep understanding of BOM, vegetation management and how it impacts procurement TECHNOLOGY, EQUIPMENT & TOOLS: • Proficient with standard office equipment i.e., computer, phones, scanner, fax, and copier., • Detail-oriented and investigative skills, • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills., • Excellent organizational skills., • Effectively engage and interact with operations., • Ability to embrace change and focus on process improvements., • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities., • Effective communication and training skills (both written and verbal)., • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines., • Interpersonal and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an office environment. The position requires regular travel including overnights by ground and/or air transportation. COMPENSATION: $66,400 - $87,500 Lewis Services regularly evaluates our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive.
