Job DescriptionHello! We are hiring for Fiber Splicer here in Chandler, AZ! Job Description As a Fiber Splicer, you will be responsible for all aspects of fiber installation, termination, testing, and splicing. This position requires proficiency in both copper termination and fiber optic systems, ensuring high standards of installation and maintenance. Responsibilities • Install, terminate, test, and splice fiber optics., • Perform basic copper termination skills., • Install work area outlets for floor, modular furniture, and wall, terminating CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks., • Mount faceplates and surface mount boxes accurately., • Build closets, including mounting and installing backboards, cross-connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic, and hardware., • Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required., • Complete all IDC connections, including terminating 110/66 blocks and patch panels., • Perform testing and continuity tests for horizontal and riser cables using a volt-ohmmeter., • Troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts, and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cables., • Install and terminate LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP connectors for multi-mode and single-mode fiber., • Terminate simplex & duplex jumper cords., • Terminate and breakout outside plant (loose tube) fiber, including Corning/Commscope and 3DNX., • Terminate indoor tight buffered multimode and single-mode fiber., • Install fan-out kits, including buffer tube., • Calculate end-to-end loss budgets in accordance with TIA/EIA standards for multimode & single-mode fiber., • Test and troubleshoot using an OTDR to identify and correct problems end to end and network-wide., • Perform mechanical and fusion splicing with all types of fiber cable., • Proficiency in terminating all connector types and methods for SMF and MMF systems (Unicam, anaerobic, heat-cure)., • Experience in testing and troubleshooting MMF & SMF systems (OTDR & PMLS)., • Strong ability to pull cable through pathways, terminate, and test copper cables (Cat 5, Cat 6)., • Ability to climb ladders and work comfortably at heights., • Ability to see and distinguish different colors, read small print, and hear audible signals such as dial tones., • Comfortable working in confined spaces., • Join a dynamic team in a high-tech manufacturing site where safety is the number one priority., • The work is performed at a high-tech manufacturing site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
